LIFE UPDATE

Dance sucked - DJ gave way too much commentary, the 3 boys I danced with were average (but then again i like average), and some stupid freaking idiots put gum in all the water fountains. EW.

Too much homework - got my progress report, half A-s and half Bs. I am drowning in homework.

My room is so clean - i can't find anything. I hate it when mom goes on a cleaning rampage.

Halloween was pretty good...except I'm on candy probation. PAH

So basically, my life is below average right now.

Went to go see Wild Things with a good buddy of mine. I cried so much, she didn't cry at all. I have her a 20-minute-lecture on the symbolism and meaning of it all, which seemed to have some effect.

Max finds the Wild Things as he's running away from his mom...he finds his mom as he's running away from Carol. But before he comes back, he fixes things with him. When he comes back, he fixes things with his mom.

All the Wild Things are parts of Max. Carol embodies him most, destroying things to deal with his anger and being in the same situation as him.

KW is like Max's mom - she brings home her owl friends, which Carol does not like - Max's mom brings home her boyfriend, which Max does not like. She also protects him from Carol/himself.

As Carol is chasing Max, Max sees what he must seem like to his mother - wild, "out of control", and unpredictable.

The Wild Things are children! When Carol rips out Douglas's arm, sand pours our and he complains - "Hey! That was my favorite arm!" They are hurt but don't feel the pain - they are very resilient (i.e. Alexander and Judith) and forgive Max easily - they have no blood to spill, no pain to feel.

Yup, I did this all myself - I'm so deep.

I'm pretty sure it's right, if I do say so myself. (Heh heh)

I also bought the soundtrack - Karen O., the fecking genius, has done it again. I cried when I listened to the songs too. My favorites are Rumpus, Igloo, and All Is Love.

The same buddy who went to go see it with me is coming over Friday to build forts with me. I like being a kid.

These are my fall shoe picks :) The Acnes and Opening Ceremonys are a bit similar, BUT I WANT BOTH! I have collected SO many awesome pictures to share on my blog that my desktop (pictured above) looks like a JPEG explosion. I'm stuck in a kind of Catch-22 here (I gave up on that book, so annoyingly ambiguous): I have to clean up my desktop because I'm really OCD about that kind of stuff, but if I upload them all on my blog it'll be like 50 posts. DILEMMA! Do you guys mind if I post all of these? They're pretty brilliant material, but too much can be overwhelming...

Sorry about the gigantic influx of posts, it's the last few days of summer and therefore I have nothing to do but sleep, eat, and go to the bathroom. School starts in only two days, which sucks bad. Me and my friends are having dinner together to catch up with each other :) so I'm excited for that. I'm typing this as I listen to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows on cassette tape (yes, I still have a cassette tape player), which is pretty good. I've reverted back into I-have-no-life mode, annotating my Harry Potter hardcovers and watching Cartoon Network like no tomorrow. My mom is getting super annoyed at me - I've only read three non-Harry-Potter books this summer (I read the series over 3 times in less than three months) so she's banning me once school starts. NOT FAIR, MUM. :((((
